"Excellent Location"
We spent 3 great nights at the Astoria whilst the Cannes Film Festival was on. Got a great rate on Expedia, which surprised us as the festival was on we were half expecting something to be wrong with it but we were pleasantly surprised. I think it has just had a refurb as it all seemed quite new/modern although it was quite basic it was clean and in a very good location. The train station is at the top of the street. We took a train to Cannes one day (8 min journey) and we went to Monte Carlo the next (1hr journey), on the way back we hopped off the train in Nice for lunch and then back on again for no extra cost. Juan les Pins is really nice and this hotel although not on the beach front is just a short walk down the street. Lots of nice restaurants on the beach, reasonable prices although we were paying approx £9 for a cocktail at a place call Pam Pam's however the entertainment was fab and the cocktails were delicious complete with great accessories! No complaints about any part of the trip and was good to be close to Cannes but not actually in it with all the hustle and bustle of the festival. Will definitely be returning.

"Hot on the Cote D'Azur"
We also stopped here, and the hotel was clean and tidy, the rooms are apparently sound proofed with good air conditioning. The continental breakfast in the hotel was 9 euros 50 cents, but we ate breakfast near the beach which was 6 euros. It was very difficult to get anything other thann croissants or pain au chocolat. Location, was as mentioned before very handy for the train station, where everywhere along the coast can be reached very easily.
We got the train to Antibes most nights (only 3 minutes), as we found Juan les Pins quite expensive, unless all you wanted was pizza. It's about a 10 minute walk from the train station into the centre. We had 3 course meals in Juan les Pins, which were much cheaper, and had a great meal in Le Marmite restaurant for 13 euros 50 cents. Most of the bars near the harbour had happy hours between 7-8, so the drinks were much cheaper.
The private beaches were approx 10-15 euros per person and that included your umbrella and bed, so we went on the public beach. I'm not a big fan of lying on the sand, so we only sunbathed for a couple of days of the week we were there.
